Some years ago, my husband and I, along with another couple(they were from Brooklyn) went to a "Russian Restaurant/Nightclub" somewhere in Brighton Beach. From the outside, it looked like a nothing hole-in-the wall. It was in the middle of the block, I would say on the north side of the street-it was near the boardwalk(I think). Once inside, it was a long room(not fancy at all) with long tables. In the back was a dance floor/stage where there was live entertainment. It happened to be a singer/or band. It was a crowded and noisy place with lots of atmosphere. We ordered the"feast" and received many different plates of all types of food. The first course was cold salads, the next cold fishes, then a hot meat selection with potatoes and then finally desserts. As each course was brought to the table, the plates were literally stacked on top of the previous courses if food still remained, allowing us to continue to pick. Along side was this huge round bread that we just pulled apart. This would have been a cheap meal, but then the bottle of Stoli was put on the table...and the rest is history. While eating, we were entertained, in Russian, but it was fun to listen to anyway. We had a great time and wonderful memories. I don't know if this place still exists, but would love to find something like it today. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
