I just passed by a couple of the local Italian places. Frascati [Hyde and Green] has a wine and dine Wednesday. 3 courses, 3 wines for $50. Without wine, $30. Last Wednesday's menu was seafood salad, halibut and a cheese tray [that one was with a Cotes de Rhone, don't remember the others.]
Amerena [formerly Baldoria, formerly something else, those guys need to get a new lawyer; Green and Larkin]
says it has a free antipasti buffet from 5:30 to 6:30. I've had too many biology courses to ever eat raw meat or fish, but a pal said their venison carpaccio was yummy. They also had wild boar in a blueberry sauce. The owners are from Rome. I pass this place all the time when doing my laundry and one thing I like about it is that they do not make the staff set up tables and wine glasses before they shut down for the night. It squicks me out to go by a restaurant and see the wine glasses set out way ahead of time, collecting dust.
