Russian Bread

Ivan Stoler | Aug 28, 2003 03:06 PM

Yesterday I went to Brachs Kosher meats on Main St, Queens Valley. On my search for their brisket I found some great bread. They have breads from Handmade products, LIC. Never heard of them before but they had a Russian bread called "Borodinskiy". It's tan in color, the 1st ingredient is rye flour, then wheat. The bread is loaded w/whole coriander seeds. Wow and mmm. It reminds me of about 10-12 years ago, after the wall fell Bloomingdales was importing from Russia bread just like this, but @ $10.00 or so a pop! This bread is tasty, a little sweet and less fiberous than you'd expect.Damn Dr Atkins and his ilk, I'm going for the gusto and getting more!
