I read too many conflicting reports on the bbq here so we played it safe with the (award winning) fried chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes w/ gravy, supplemented by the slightly sweet but lightly made biscuits from our Fairway Breakfast of the same day. I only had the fried chicken reheated the next day so that's not fair for me to judge it, but it reheated nice and crispy and was not greasy or dry. The chicken itself seemed very small (compared to KFC, an admitted weakness of mine, msg et al.) and not terrifically flavorful, but certainly adequate. (Nothing we had was v salty, yay!) The sides were all very good to excellent, the baked beans being the standout imo, with robust clean flavor and texture and a touch of sweetness. The slaw has a bit of pineapple juice in it but is not super sweet and is fresh and refreshing, and not swimming in dressing. The mashed red bliss skin-on potatoes were very good, not gluey, and the gravy seemed real and not cornstarchy/ too thick. I wanted to try the smoked chicken (w/o BBQ sauce) but 'dry/meh' reports scared me off that. I'm delighted to say that everything we had was reasonably priced and well prepared, so we had an enjoyable take-out lunch.
