Is Rushmore on the verge of closing? I was in there recently and the place was empty. It didn't look like anyone was in charge. The bartender (very brash woman) was doing double-duty as a server, and it is clear to anyone who has met her that she lacks the polish required for a server at a restaurant of this caliber. And because she also tended bar, it made for a very rushed evening. The staff (what there was of them) all had this downtrodden attitude like they couldn't be bothered. They were dressed super-casually. And as I went to the back of the restaurant to the bathroom and peeked into the kitchen, there was only one person there cooking and he looked like the sous-sous-chef. As for the meals, they were okay, but very heavy, as if there was no chef to conceive of a more appropriate menu for the Spring season.
While I'm sorry to see the place go down, I don't think I'll be returning.
