I have a Cuisinart pot, about 12 qt, that is definitely aluminum. I'm not sure if the bottom is another metal, but I think it is because it is heavier than a typical aluminum pot. (I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about, I found it for $20 and just bought it.) Anyway, I soaked and boiled a batch of beans in it and then made it into kale, bean and sausage soup. After I made the soup, I noticed that the inside of the pot is not shiny anymore and it seems to have lost its finish. Is this salvable? Is it safe to cook with? How about the soup?
