Having heard about this place for years, we finally went last weekend for a celebratory dinner and were wowed. Chef Rudy is one of only about five dozen Certified Master Chefs in the US. He is classically trained in Europe and prepares consistent delicious classical dishes. You will not find tall food or fusion cuisine, just very well prepared standards with some nice updating. Our main courses were a veal chop, a point, with a light but flavorful mushroom/wine sauce, and a filet mignon with a madeira and morel sauce I wish I had a cup of and a straw! Among the side dishes were a delicious garlic polenta, and a pile of warm spaghetti squash treated rather like sauerkraut, with caraway and a light vinegary dressing. The Bavarian cheesecake for dessert was so ethereally light that only the surrounding pastry crust kept it from floating into the air. Although we dined a la carte, they also offer an unbelieveably inexpensive prix fixe three-course meal for $20! We are definitely going back soon. They have a webpage with details.
