Rub's Smokehouse - Triangle NC

Finally stopped by here after driving by it every single day. I knew they weren't touted as being Eastern NC 'cue specialists, and since I'm always on the market for good brisket, I went with the brisket sandwich sans slaw. Actually, I asked for slaw on the side, but didn't get it, and didn't want to fight the crowd to bother getting it. The brisket was chopped, almost to a pulled consistency, and was very smokey and succulent. Not dried out like other briskets I've had around these parts. The only other brisket I've enjoyed around here has been at the Q Shack, but they're inconsistent. Rub's brisket was waaay better than Q Shack's. It didn't require sauce, but I spooned a little on about halfway thru, and the sauce was great. They threw in 3 little hushpuppies, which were of the slightly sweet, onion-y variety, which is my preference.

Chapel Will & Sarah Jane tell me that their ribs are also excellent, another thing I haven't found around here.
