I was driving through on my way home and ran across a sandwich board at a Liberty Gas Station (507 N. Royal Ave) advertising indian cuisine. I can't resist the possibility of great gas station food so I stopped in. The chef working behind the food counter offered a sample of the chana masala he was making - superb. I ordered the daily special lamb curry, cooked to order on a gas stove. He paused several times to offer up samples to judge my desired spice level. Final product was excellent. Wife operates the cash register for the gas station.
This isn't fast food, we had plenty of time to converse during which time I learned they are Nepalese (I figured as much due to momos on the menu) and are opening up a store front on main street sometime this fall. I mentioned my love for the nepalese radish pickle and they pointed to a big plastic jar balanced on a pillar out back - fermenting in the sun.
People this nice who produce such delicious food deserve more patrons so stop by if you're heading out 66 and like indian/nepalese.
