Rossyln & Cherry Blossoms – advice/help needed

Rachel... | Mar 30, 2004 01:07 PM

My boyfriend’s grandparents are visiting to enjoy the cold weather and what will be the wet cherry blossoms.
I need suggestions for where to go for moderately or lower end dinner suggestions for Thursday and Friday night, as well as a reasonably priced brunch for Saturday.

These are people that make a weekly dinning experience to the Ponderosa at home. So, nothing what they would call “ethnic” (Indian, Thai and I am betting not Chinese either).

They are staying in Rosslyn and we are doing the Holocaust Museum and tourist DC type things.

Though I have never been, I know about: Summer’s, across from that is an Irish Pub, Red Hot & Blue in Ballston, Tom Sarris (is this any good?) in the area.
Cheesecake would be too busy and Harry’s I am betting is too expensive, which would make them uncomfortable. I would like to make reservations for Thursday night at Ray’s if possible, though I have never been and we for sure will be wearing jeans, would this be okay there??

They are older, so walking should be minimum, and please do not say jump on metro and taxi somewhere, cause that will just not happen with the g’parents…I am looking for simple, clean, decent.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
