Rossetti's

Went to Rossetti's, in Winthrop, a while ago for some excellent traditional Italian. Most entree's are under $20 with the exception of steaks which are in the low 20's. The dinner menu has a good selection of pastas, chicken, pork, veal, seafood and a few pizza's. Entree's come with a salad which was very nice, no iceberg here, they use mixed field greens with tomato and cucumber in a vinegarette dressing. Our table sampled their ricotta stuffed ziti with bolognese sauce, the sauce had some excellent texture from the meat that was left in small pieces. Next we tried the chicken cutlet with spinach, not the frozen stuff but fresh baby spinach, and fresh mozzarella. The fresh tomato sauce was finished with cream and delicious. It came with a good sized side of pasta. Lastly we had a canolli, usually I skip this because most places bring them in from bakeries, not here, Bobby, one of the owners makes his own shells and ricotta cream. The ricottta had a clean taste and was not overly sweet, perfecto!

Bobby came over to greet the table and spent some time talking with us, really classy and an owner who appreciates his customers and the business they bring. This guy is proud of what he produces. The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive and it's BOYB and they take reservations which is always a good thing.

I'll have to work my way through the menu, over several visits but, after trying most places in Winthrop, I'd say Rossetti's is right up there. Give them a try.
