After weeks of research on these boards and word of mouth I finally decided to try Rosewater for a birthday dinner for my husband. This was no easy decision since it involved both sets of parents, one of which is a bit conventional in their dining attitude. The price also had to be right -lest we look like we were taking advantage of their generosity. The night turned out to be fabulous. From the minute I made the reservation I felt a real warmth and caring from the staff. I loved the room and the noise level was perfect for my slighlty hard of hearing dad. The appetizers were allright but not nearly as good as the main courses. I had duck breast with sweet potato mash and escarole which was fantastic. Each item on the plate had such a complex range of flavors while managing to all work together too. (Note: I just read a thread about annoying food terms and descriptions so I am a little self conscious now!) Everything else I tried was delicious as well -- there was definately a good vibe in the room last night. The staff and chef were so friendly knowledgable we all felt really taken care of. Anyway, I know that coming to these boards all the time has been entertaining and rewarding so I just wanted to say thanks to all the 'hounds who are so helpful.
