Rose Pistola

Inspired by recent positive Rose Pistola posts I stopped by for a light lunch today. The service was helpful and courteous. The ribolita soup ($5) was full of beautifully diced celery, carrots, bread, flageolet beans, chick peas and zucchinis and topped w/ shaved parmesean. Thanks to Dave Blake and other recent fava bean posts I also ordered the fava beans and Tuscan Pecorini Stagianatti($7). The beans were perfect; the pecorino had a wonderful semisoft texture, was moderately sharp and rich. It is also available as one of the artisan cheeses on the dessert menu.
I haven't been to Rose Pistola in years but I'm looking forward to returning for dinner soon.
