Rosa Mexicana on 18th Street - short review

Bill L. | Nov 15, 2005 12:25 PM

Had lunch at new Rosa Mexicana on 18th Street yesterday. They have substantially upgraded the decor and even though I find David Rockwell to usually be over the top, the room looks great - probably understated for him. The food was excellent and as good as the Lincoln Center Rosa, where I have eaten several times. Had an excellent special appetizer of duck in a tortilla with pepper sauce and then had a grilled shrimp entre over rice that was very solid. Finished the meal with an interesting chocolate dessert where the chocolate was stuffed into an enchilada, along with a small fruit tart and rum raison ice cream. I think this place will do very well.
