I have been getting a lot of summer squash and cucumbers from my csa. Unfortunately, they seem to be getting soft, getting these little spots of goo, and going bad within a few days. I am getting discouraged that they are not lasting. Any idea why?
My environment: live in humid area (dc), cucumbers are on counter that is quite dark for most of the day, the air is turned to kick on at 79 degrees. However, it rarely gets over 74 degrees because I don't have a lot of direct sunlight into my place. My apartment is a bit stuffy when I get home. Is it the staid sir? How can I make them last longer? Help!
