My wife and I are spending 3 nights, 4 days in Manhattan over Valentines weekend. We'll be staying in midtown.
We are regular travellers and always enjoy splurging on exciting and innovative restaurants. I am hoping to get some guidance from the CH community to help us maximize our dining experience. We don't NEED to spend a lot of $ on eating out, but are happy to if it's a worthy meal.
So here's where I am at on planning. I know Valentines weekend is nuts. I called Asiate about a window seat for the late seating: $325 for the set menu and a guaranteed view! "No thanks" *click*.
We are looking for:
A great French restaurant - bistro or fine dining
Sushi/Izakaya - Not too adventurous
American/Wild Card - Just great food, in a fun environment (busy, energetic etc)
I've made the following reservations:
Friday Dinner - Gabriel Kruether
Saturday Dinner - Batard
Sunday Brunch - Tavern on the Green (never been)
Sunday Dinner - Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya
Hoping you all can either confirm we've made good choices, or re-direct us if we've made poor ones.
