Bad news - hubby has to be on Oahu for Valentine's Day
Good News - he booked 2 seats & mom said yes to babysitting - yeah!!!

Now the dilemma, getting a reservation...

We are #20 something on Alan Wong's waitling list

La Mer is not taking resvs unless you are a hotel guest (I wish, but no, it's the Hyatt for this business trip)

We have a 9:30 resv at Hoku & they won't call me if anything earlier cancels... $75 pp for a 4 course (I asked - no wine included) & had to give my cc to hold.

What should I do? I really want to eat at Alan Wongs from all the recc's - would this even be good for a V's Day & should I keep calling & begging?

We have eaten & really enjoyed Hoku's, but I kindof wanted to go somewhere new & be seated well before 9:30...

For your info, we really like Roy's on Oahu (but obviously would like something a little quieter) & SanSei & Nick's on Maui. Some years ago we had a nice, but the setting was spectacular, in the restaurant at the base of Diamond Head. I know that's a W Hotel now - is there still a restaurant & is it worth it?

All advise much appreciated...
