Always looking for new places to take my mom in White Bear Lake, we went to Roman Anthony's as I had read about them and saw their ambitious menu on their website. Wow again.

We started with Barata cheese, prosciutto crisp, tomato, pesto cream, and a reduction of balsamic. Delicious.

For my entrée I had house-made gnocchi with lobster, a lemon cream sauce, wilted spinach, and truffles. Rich, rich, rich, though absolutely wonderful.

My mum had the papparadelle with braised veal, wild mushrooms, San Marzano tomatoes, and truffle oil.

Located in a strip mall on 96 just off 35, really, you need to try this place if you are in the area.

My mother had been there the week before for lunch and she and her friend had sandwiches (don't remember what they were), but she said they were delicious.

Service was spot-on without being overbearing.

The tab was $107, but we had $45 worth of wine (!). and I ordered a pretty expensive dish.

Loved it.
