Rocky Road Cake recipe or guidelines?

tcamp | Dec 23, 201406:36 AM     6

Spouse's birthday is on the 25th and I'd like to make a rocky road cake as it is his favorite ice cream flavor.

A stroll through google world yields some recipes but nothing grabs me. Most of the recipes seem to be just chocolate cake with the marshmallows and nuts on top in the icing whereas I'd rather get some of those flavors into the cake itself. Got any tried and true recipes? Or, if that fails, some guidance as to what I can do to a basic chocolate cake recipe to rocky road-icize it?
