Rockwell - A disappointing bit of weho in Los Feliz

I went to Rockwell on Vermont in Los Feliz this sunday for brunch. Its a very pretty room, open to the sky in the middle with a big tree festooned with candles and ornaments. The bar and dining area are open and inviting. The waiters are all gorgeous and the crowd is straight out of the Abby - lots of beautiful men and a DJ playing all the predictable gay tunes.

Too bad the food doesn't measure up to the looks.

I had a nice but wobbly table in the bar area. They have paper napkins and the water came in a plastic tumbler, which isn't awful, but not too classy either.
I asked the waiter if people liked the burger and he said it was great. I asked about the bacon, and he said it was apple wood smoked and amazing.
I had the Kobe burger with fries and a side of Bacon. The burger was cooked to order but was under seasoned, totally bland meat and the bun had no sign of any dressing. The onion was sliced very thick and crooked and the bun crumbled apart. I would never order it again. It was served with shoe string fries which were unremarkable, some cold, some warm, some seasoned, some not. it also came with a pickle spear, just a limp garnish.
The bacon was awful. I sent it back. The bacon is thin sliced and came in a small dish, the pieces translucent, flabby and all stuck together in one clump. It wasn't just poor, it was gross.

When the check finally came, the bacon was still on it, so I waited and waited and waited and finally asked the manager for my waiter and I asked the bacon to be removed and when the correct check came, again I waited way too long to have my money taken.
This could be just my imagination, but after I sent back the bacon, I noticed the manager making the rounds through the room but ignoring me- stopped by every table but mine. Maybe I'm not his type, but you'd think if a table sent something back, he might a least stop by to check on things.
