Has anyone tried Rock Soup on 29th & Mission? I'm interested in seeing what others have to say. I went w/ a big group a couple weeks ago and had a delicious meal. The menu is concise with only a one-page selection that changes nightly (?). On the night we went, on the menu was: Lamb Chops, Beef Brisket, Chicken Pot Pie, a Salmon/Swordfish selection, mushroom risotto, and several other items that don't come to mind immediately.

The focus of the restaurant is the SOUP, hence the name. As you walk through the doors, the aroma of stewing soups overwhelm. Soup selections change nightly, but there are at least 6 to choose from: Split Pea, Creamed Carrot, Salmon bisque, are some that were offered the night we went.

Everyone should have at least a cup before their main meal. All soups come with freshly baked biscuits, instead of bread. If you're not sure which soup you want, ask for samples-- they come in tiny metal shot-like glasses for your tasting pleasure. Definitely
worth the trip to the outer-reaches of the Mission. Don't blink cause you might miss ROCK SOUP, the outside is non descript, especially at night. The only signage is a glowing red ROCK (think STONE SOUP). Happy chowing, fellow hounds...
