Little Rock report (long)

Thanks to everyone who made LR suggestions. We enjoyed our visit and were impressed with the "livability" of the city. Best Impressions, inside the Arkansas Arts Center (lovely museum, BTW), had the best thing I ate in LR, a warm cherry/white chocolate bread pudding with milk chocolate ganache and cashew brittle--it was amazing. All of the food there was very good; we each had a turkey/ham wrap and an interesting artichoke/blue cheese soup. (The fibrous part of the artichoke should have been better pureed in or just strained out, but the flavor was excellent.)A great place for a long lunch when you have time to stroll through the galleries!

We also enjoyed the pizzas and asparagus/spinach spread at Loca Luna. Congenial atmosphere and great servers. The bar and restaurant servers were cordial without being familiar, there when we needed them, inobtrusive when we didn't, very professional. I'd like to go there again.

Terrace on the Green, a recommendation from our innkeeper, is worth a visit if you are on the west side of town. It is a pleasant small restaurant with cheerful service. My husband's lamb chops and my grilled snapper with shrimp in a saffron cream sauce (both specials that night) were good, but didn't knock our socks off. The pear/gorgonzola/walnut salad was highly recommended, so give it a try.

Finally, to keep this food-oriented, the bountiful breakfasts (and everything else) at the Rosemont bed and breakfast were excellent!
