Rock-hard marzipan - salvageable?

I just bought some marzipan from my local upscale grocery, and it was rock hard. Could I do anything to salvage it?

(While it's fun to make marzipan from almond paste, it's time-consuming. But at least I know that the canned almond paste is useable.) Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA!
