Was inspired to "make up" a soup today - chopped up a celery root, two small red onions, and a couple of small potatoes, tossed in olive oil, salt & pepper and roasted w/ 5 rosemary sprigs. Then processed through a food mill, sauteed with four chopped slices of bacon, added chicken broth, pureed w/ my stick blender and added a little sherry. Very tasty. Next time, I might chop the pieces smaller and just use the stick blender. Wondering if I would get the same bacon flavor if I added the bacon at the roasting stage.
