Roasted Banana FroYo Sans Curry

So I made a batch of some kind of frozen desert tonight flavored with roasted banana. It was delicious. I noticed that I had neglected to purchase several of the ingredients (evap milk, milk, cream, superfine sugar, extra bananas). At first I thought, ah, I'll wait til I have everything I need. Then I decided to go ahead with whatever I could scrounge up.

I roasted one good-sized organic, Fair Trade banana in a small pan for about 20 minutes at 400 degrees. After about 15 min. I became afraid it'd burn so I turned off the oven for the last 5 minutes. I then cooled and refrigerated it. What I should have done was to put a little boiling water in the pan and swirl it around to loosen the caramelized banana juices, but I forgot.

I noticed I had about a half cup of Ciao Bella Vaniglia Gelato in the freezer. I took this out and let it melt. I also had 1 partial tub (about 1/2 cup) of Fage 2% yoghurt and 1/2 cup of Fage goat/sheep milk yoghurt. I mixed the gelato and yog together and added a large soup spoon full of Golden Syrup to the mix. I decided against the curry as I wasn't sure the single banana was going to give the froyo enough flavor and didn't want to overpower it.

I then blended about a cup of this mix with the cold banana. Then I mixed the whole thing together and put it in my Donvier. After it froze, I tasted it instead of putting it back in the freezer. I rarely continue to freeze churned ice cream or froz yog. I like the texture of the stuff as soon as I finish churning.

Wow! This was very very very good. If it was this good with my wacky recipe, how great will it be when I have more than one banana and real ingredients to go along!?
