I recall some chowhounds getting together for lunch at Smith and Wollensky last year. One chowhound in particular was very, very pleased with the Roast Beef Hash.
This evening I was at the store where I purchased a copy of Saveur Cooks winter edition, a rather steep $9.95 which I did not notice until checkout time. Flipping through the pages, there is a recipe for Roast Beef Hash on page 89 considered a specialty of Wollensky's Grill, a more casual offshoot of Smith & Wollensky. Since it is all in the family, I'll bet this is the same enjoyed by our friends.
