Last week I was in Puyallup, and friends there took me to a great BBQ restaurant in Sumner called Brank's. I had chicken and ribs, and they were fabulous. The chicken was moist, crispy skin, and smoked flavor throughout the meat. The ribs were tender. The sauce is a sweet sauce, with some fire to it.
And the beans, oh my, they were the best I've had in a long time. Meals come with two sides, cornbread, and dessert. On my two visits, it's been a sweet whipped cream thing called Kansas City Mud.
You can get to Sumner by traveling south on 167 and taking the Sumner exit. Drive up to East Main Street, and head East. You'll drive a ways, through a funky downtown area, and past the high school.
