Road House in York, PA

Nanaimo Bar | May 10, 2003 07:57 PM

On a recent trip to York, PA, I was lucky enough to get a referral to go to the Road House, located on Highway 462 on the eastern edge of the city.

The menu is meat and fish. As the name would suggest, you shouldn't expect fancy, but rather a good rendering of this genre of restaurant.

I had sirloin tips with peppers and onions. The meat was of excellent quality and the preparation was nicely done (not greasy).

Additionally, I was very impressed that both the clientele and the staff of this restaurant appeared to have a longstanding commitment to the place. On a Saturday evening, it was crowded, but not overwhelming. The bar adjacent to the entryway was very active, but the eating area was not at all noisy.

If you're anywhere near York and looking for a restaurant that does its business well, I highly recommend this one.
