Ah, my first Chowhound post, being an old friend of Jim Leff's (brother trombonist). I travel a lot with bands, and am sometimes very hard-pressed to eat well. Hence my 'several' visits to Mickey-D's, but oh well. Anyway, to introduce myself here, I would like to start a thread regarding this frustrating subject of being a citizen of the world, and bound by timetables to be at the club on time while still yearning for good eats. I had the best steak in my life at a restaurant in Buenos Aires in a neigborhood called "Hollywood" called "Trapishe" I think. Also, every Autogrille in Italy is a welcome sight, since those curry-wurst stands dissapeared from the rest stops in East Germany. Anything to avoid the curry-slop served to bands at dirtbag punk clubs around the world - they call it 'catering'... Anyway, chime in with your stories of running to eat something while trying not to miss soundcheck!
