My husband and I had a terrible dinner at RK Saturday night. First, the service was just awful. A few examples: we had to ask for bread twice, we had to remind the waiter we ordered coffee, which did not come out until we were almost finished with dessert, no one ever came to check on us or see if we wanted more drinks, water, food, anything(!), our plates were never cleared from our table until the next course was brought out, and the dirty dishes from the table next to ours was never cleared off (that couple left about a half hour before we finished our meal). In addition to the poor service, the food was poorly prepared - our side of broccoli with extra garlic came out soggy with no garlic, my husband's entree was overcooked, etc.
We mentioned the service (but not the food) issues to the manager on our way out. He barely listened to what we had to say before advising us that they had a number of busboys standing in for waiters that evening so he expected the service to be off! I didn't find this explanation to have any merit and the managers demeanor certainly did not win the restaurant any points.
For the caliber of restaurant RK supposes itself to be, there are certainly better options in the Rye area. I definitely do no recommend this over-hyped (although, admittedly, not on this board) restaurant.
