Just wanted to quickly note that I tried Rizzo's Pizza on MacDougal betw. Bleecker and W. 3rd after it was mentioned on this board and was very pleased!
Quite a thin crust.
Pretty decent mozzarella.
Their specialty is sicilian and it shows: very thin crust, lots of marinara, and a big thin rectangular slab of mozzarella in the middle.
Also, the toppings are very carefully done, I saw a pie of with extremely thin-sliced zucchini come out of the oven while I was there. They don't just pile on whatever toppings you want unless you get a whole pie, I think.
The menu said they have been in Brooklyn for 40 years and this is the 1st Manhattan outpost. Finally--a more than decent slice in the village!!!
