Riverside Cafe

Read about this place several times here and gave it a try the other night.

Had the grilled chicken breast with chevre on polenta along with veg and a fruit reduction. Sounds a bit much but the flavours and presentation worked and were still 'accessible'.I'm not a fan of goat cheese but the composition with pesto was not overly tart and when paired with the fruit it was made into homey/comfort food almost! The polenta was interesting - it was shaved, then grilled. much like potato rosti or fried taro like you get with a 'phoenix nest' in a chinese restaurant.

Friendly service, ambiance galore, a decent (wine and) beer selection, and along with my company, I left this place with good vibes overall. Can't wait to go back.

I am surprised the room was not fuller than it was.
