For the past couple of years, Ritzy Palace and Chi-Star have been two of my most favorite go-to places for consistent quality Cantonese food that excels.
Tonight's family dinner at Ritzy Palace introduced us to a few new chef's recommendation featured on their re-vamped daily special menu.
The following delicious dishes really stood out:
1) Stirred fry deep water Floridian Warsaw Garoupa with XO sauce - Perfectly cooked fish filet with just the right amount of spiciness to accent and compliment the delicate sweetness of the fish. The caramelized and slightly charred edges reflect good wok-hay execution.
2) Wok seared Angus Filet Mignon cubes with minced crispy garlic, butter and Maggi Sauce. - This dish brought back fond child hood memory of my dining in Hong Kong. Reminiscent of the 'Roasted leg of veal with butter, Maggi pan jus' at the iconic Tai Ping Koon Restaurant. This is the first time in North America that someone was able to replicate such unique aroma and flavor profile. The first bite of the piping hot morsel almost brought tears to my eyes! Yes! I am feeling really blessed!
In addition to the 1/2 price Peking Duck daily special ( 2 ways ). Other dishes we ordered include:
- Sweet and Sour Spare ribs Peking style
- Steamed Eggplant with preserved Olive Tepenade and minced pork
Both were nicely executed and wonderful tasting!
