What a nightmare, Christmas Eve dinner was last night. Our trusty, dependable, nothing can go wrong Restaurant(The RITZ) failed in the food dept for the first time in 20 years of dining there. The Ritz changed ownership about 6 months ago and the reports from trusted friends were the food has never been better, last night the food was at an all time low. Two of us had to send back our overly "reheated" dried out Dover Sole, which was promptly replaced by a Goose and Osso Bucco which were better but not Stellar like in previous years. On the bright side the MTG saw fit to allow us to open more than the 2 bottle max which helped numb the pain, except for the 25-ea corkage(90 Besaujour Duffu, 97 Hillside SL. This is all very sad considering the limited amount of Highend restaurants in OC. Vertical Restaurant in Laguna is closing in one week also. Some of my friends called my cell during dinner from other restaurants Knoll's and Josie's and were having wonderful meals which we could have been at instead, double bummer!
