Bought at an exhorbitant price ($4.99 for 16oz.) at a Woodman's near Appleton, WI. The label teases, "With Veggies and White Wine." Indeed, there were bits of celery and tomato and olive--but my wife and I counted exactly one tiny little clam in the whole jar, and zero any kind of seafood taste. Shame on them.
Interestingly, the company's website, www.lagunatuna.com, shows products with much different labels; I suppose these were done up for the site at an earlier time, and the company has since amended the labels on their products. The apparent counterpart to mine is called "Laguna Tuna Clam Sauce"; whereas my apparently more recent incarnation is "Laguna Clam [with Registered Trade Mark notation in extremely tiny print] Pasta Sauce." Thus, the language seems to have been changed to comply with the letter of the law but to continue to promote deceit.
