Rijstaffel and Seafood In Amsterdam

Yes, yes, I know everyone comes to the Intenational Board for those one-off requests, but it *is* an emergency(g)..I have just been dealt a ticket for 4 days in Amsterdam, starting Dec.4..I've checked out all the old posts, and am still having a hard time deciding which will be the best place to squander my rijstaffel meal...I like my food authentic and unusual, doesn't have to be hip...Will it be Kantjil en de Tijger, or Tempo Deoloe??? Or will these not be it at all, are there others that I have dismissed, because the posts are three years old?

What's the best seafood place? Again, more authentic than high-end; altho I'll listen to those recs, too...

Will the Albert Cuyp Market still be a must-see? Will I still find herring on every street-corner,( for which I fervently pray?) And BTW, herring is the staff of life, where will I find the best? What are the best bars for beer?

And what of genever bars; this is the mother-lode for gin, where should I go?

Oh, please, please, help..I know you get tired of these tourist queries, but I know I answer them on the Boston board if they tug on my heartstrings, or appeal to my lust for chow...Come to Boston, I'll steer you to the best fried clams, oysters with black bean sauce, and fabulous Thai!
