Stopped in at the bar last night after fried chicken and steamed mackerel across the street at Chik N Deli. I shared a flaming rum concoction before succumbing to Maui Mike's excellent mai tai. We noted how just the smell of dark rum transported us to the tropics. Outside, a stormy night on Taraval, inside, Hanalei.

Has anyone been to Rick's for luau night (1st Monday of the month) or Hawaiian brunch lately? I also heard a rumor they serve French toast : )

Noticed that New Loi's was dark when I drove by. Are they just closed on Tuesdays or gone for good?
