My hubby & I went to The Richmond for the 2nd time last Saturday. We were able to make a reservation on opentable.com, which I highly recommend if you're going there on Friday or Saturday night. The place was completely booked, which is great for them, although now they need to hire additional staff for weekends. Despite being busy, the service was smoother than on our 1st visit (right after they opened).
We were both going to start with the tomato salad, but the waitress talked me into trying the beet & carrot salad with goat cheese, and I'm glad I did. It was a lot better than the menu description made it sound.
For main courses, my husband had the steak, which was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. I had the mushroom ravioli with summer vegetables, which was in a cream sauce, so quite rich, but I polished off every last bite.
After all that (and their yummy freshly baked bread), we were too full for dessert. But I have to mention the beer bargain that my husband spotted (and took advantage of): $2.50 pints of Anchor Steam. He wants to go back just for that, and maybe try the burger next time.
