Rich and Richer, Simi Vally

After hearing about this place for a while now, we were finally in the neighborhood on Sat. and decided to give it a try. In short, the owner is an ass and we will never be going back there.

My wife and I have been eating THAI food for over 40 years. My wife cannot tolerate Oil and we both can’t do garlic. She orders steamed vegetables and my orders are with no garlic , and have never had any problems with this in literally hundreds of Thai places.

So first my wife orders steamed vegetables and he says they don’t have steamed vegetables, WTF??? He then said wait a minute let me ask my wife. He comes back and asks if she wants it with or without seasoning. I guess she made the mistake of asking why kind of seasoning because he jumped all over her about that question. So to avoid problems she said she would order a salad. I asked for Prik King and he asked how spicy. I said “spicy” and he went off again on "Do you know how spicy we make it? If you no like the spicy I don’t want to hear about it” I told him I can handle spicy and that I order it Pet Mak all the time everywhere. He went into another diatribe about HIS spice level and he said their super spicy is a five, so I said give me a four. I then told him I didn’t want any garlic and he rudely said We cannot do this. So I said what about the eggplant and he really went off on me about the garlic is in the dish and is a part of it and it cannot be taken out. At this point we left.

His nasty attitude and rudeness are guarantees we will never go back. I guess you just have to order it the way it comes on the menu or you’re screwed.
