People were talking about how great the chicken rice at Penang is but I have to put in my vote for the rice at Cafe Bello in the Osco Plaza in Allston. I got takeout last week cuz I was jonesing for rice so it was mostly that and greens with a small piece of meat. If you haven't been, it's a Brazilian place where they weigh your food from a buffet table (plantains, rice, veggies, salad, stews) plus they carve beef, pork, sausage and chicken for you. All for a measly $4.25/lb I think. Anyway, they have one plain white rice to mix with the beans and another white rice w/ little bits of vegetables but it's kind of buttery and really good. My meal cost $2.83 that nite. They have a sister location in Kenmore Sq. now too.
