Ricanelas Ice Cream @ Bi-Rite Creamery

It's been ages since my previous visit to Bi-Rite, so maybe I'm way behind the ice cream flavor roll-out here. In the neighborhood on Monday, I took the opportunity to snack here and had my first taste of "ricanelas". Described as cinnamon ice cream, this tastes like a rich and creamy horchata (rice drink) shot through with a clean burst of canela (mexican cinnamon) and crunchy bits of snickerdoodle cookies.

Monday's warmth made sitting on the sidewalk bench with a cone much more pleasant than usual. A cross-roads of the world, I bumped into friends from Ontario who sneaked into the Bay Area without any notice. Luckily we share a love of ice cream for our paths to intersect.
