I was inspired by David Lebowitz's green chartreuse ice cream. Knowing that dairy and green chartreuse go oddly well together. I explored further from there. The honey syrup added sweetness, Ransom's old tom gin is a heavier, sweeter kind of gin which I wanted. It was late october when I made this cocktail, and so keeping in theme I added the green food coloring. My palate skewers sweet, so this was very much a 'me' drink. I hope
'goblin' milk cocktail
2 ozs of Ransom's old tom Gin
1 1/2 ozs green chartreuse
2 ozs honey syrup*
4 ozs of milk
1 drop green food coloring
Shake vigorously over ice for minute .
Pour into highball/collins glass, garnish was a small unpainted dungeons and dragons miniature of a goblin (just kidding)
* recipe for honey syrup
1/4 cup of clover honey
1 cup of water
put in sacuepan and simmer over medium heat until honey dissolve, chill in fridge until ready to use.
