Brief Review: Ristorante Terrazza in Chevy Chase

Amy M. | Nov 23, 2003 11:15 AM

My husband and I have been eating at Ristorante Terrazza in Chevy Chase for almost 7 years now and it remains our favorite Italian restaurant in the DC area. We have dined at some of DC's highest rated Italian restaurants, but Terrazza is still our favorite because of its combination of fine food and great service.
The house-made pastas are amazing, especially the gnocchi with tomato and pesto sauce (not currently on the menu, but a sometime special). The seafood is also wonderful. Last night we had a nicely cooked piece of tuna served with lightly fried eggplant, an unusual combination that worked well together. The scallop appetizer on the current menu is beautifully done.
As fine as the food is, the service is even better. Many of the wait staff have been there for years and they always make us feel welcome. The wine list is good and the staff know it well and will make recommendations in whatever price range you wish.
The atmosphere is comfortable and there is a nice bar for before or after dinner drinks.
If anyone else has been to Terrazza, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
