Review of L'etoile d'ocean on Rachel

I just came back from dinner with my family at L'etoile d'ocean on Rachel (between St-Denis and St-Laurent) and we had an excellent dinner. My father had had lunch there a couple of years ago and suggested this place for his birthday. We took him up on it and I am sure glad we did. A couple of us had the seafood cataplana. It is on the table d'hote. It is 30$ has an appetizer, dessert and coffee included. The cataplana was simply excellent and was filled with seafood. It had half a lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams and calamari. A couple of us had the paella and my mother had the fish brochette. Everything was simply delicious.

The prices are reasonable. Like I said, for 30$ you had everything included and there are less pricy items. You can have some for 20$ with everything included. The wine we chose, it was not on the wine list, was a Chamine. It sells for 17$ at the SAQ and they sell it at 34$. We all thought their cappucinos and "allonges" were just perfect.

The service is discreet and courteous. They have guitar players that start around 8 o'clock.

I would recommend it to anyone who loves seafood. It really is an excellent place and I will surely go back theres sooner than later.
