Having been urged to give this restaurant another try, I did, and had a fantastic dinner. Details:
Very nice ambiance. Interesting wine list with a good number of by-the-glass choices.
Mini baguette with soft butter and chopped olives.
Festival of Tomatoes for appetizer- 3 different "heirloom" varieties from chef's garden nice dressed.
Green salad with fabulous warm, creamy, rosemary scented goat cheese medallion.
Bouillabaise (sp?) with clams, mussels, wolf fish and cod (beautiful cod) and spicy aioli on toast (I've forgotten the proper name...rouille?) Delicious.
At that point I really needed to undo a button or two, but when every thing is that good....
Orange creme brule - One of the best I've ever had, very creamy custard...could not really taste the egg, almost reminded me of ice cream. And the orange flavor was perfect...not sure how they acheived that much flavor without having the sharpness of an orange oil. Perfect crust goes without saying.
And I took a couple of beautiful ivory eggplants home.
