review: frank's steak house - esopus

ok, summary - not worth going to.

walking in, there's a bar up front, and a little eating place in back. looks like a former vfw hall or something like that.

run by a 'cia graduate'...appetizer, cream of broccoli soup, quite good and flavorful. good bread but frozen butter.

i had filet mignon - medium rare (came out quite rare, which i'll eat, so i didn't complain). fatty, the piece with bacon around it reminded me of omaha steaks. the sauce, however, was quite good.

corn on cob - so-so. was it cooked and then left to 'wait' for others? maybe.

steak fries - not cooked well.

wife's shell steak - not very tasty.

i guess my hunt for a *good* steak place up in mid-dutchess / ulster will continue...on a chart of 'known' places, with peter luger's being melt in your mouth (10), del frisco's quite good (9), ruth chris' good (8), outback a 5...i'd give this a 3-4.
