Review: Firkin & Kegler Entertainment Pub

We went with my MIL to the new Firkin & Kegler entertainment pub in Orlando today (on the back side of Waterford Lakes). Here is the website: http://www.firkinpubs.com/

It is like a Dave & Buster's, with a pub restaurant, arcade, full size bowling alley, full bars, and a kid's mini bowl area that can be rented out for birthday parties. Apparently, there are a lot of them, just like Dave & Buster's, and they all have Firkin in the name with a different second name (e.g. Firkin & Fox, Firkin & Phoenix).

The decor is cool, and most of the seating in the pub and bowling alley is red velvet booths. Very comfy and swank. Service was good. Food was hit or miss. I had coconut shrimp with sweet chili sauce that was very good, with french fries that were average. The side salad is a good size with lots of veggie toppings, and good honey mustard. DH had fish & chips. The fish (tilapia) tasted awful! Not like unfresh, just not tasting good. Seriously, do not order it. My MIL ordered the pub club, which looked really good. It was a typical club but with cranberry mayo. Other things on the menu included Guinness mushroom pie, shepherd's pie, a handful of salads (that can also be made as wraps), sweet potato fries, bangers & mash & beans, burgers, a bbq brisket sandwich, and some pastas. We didn't get desserts, but they have a dark chocolate cake, creme brulee cheesecake, and an apple dumpling thing. Typical pub food.

It's definitely a fun place. It's two-stories, and you have to be 21 to go on the second floor. We went for lunch and it didn't look like the second floor was open, so I don't know what's up there. We will definitely go back. Good place for groups.
