On Saturday, September 19, my husband and I had our first experience with The Chef's Table at the Edgewater in Winter Garden. Because there was a car show going on that night, and the streets of downtown Winter Garden were consequently closed down, we had a bit of trouble finding this restaurant. However, once we did find it, we had a very enjoyable evening.

First Course for me: Tuna Tartar with Avocado & Mango - this was wonderful, the best thing we had all night!
First Course for husband: Savory Foie Gras Creme Brulee - my husband enjoyed this, though he was a bit disappointed that it was cold. He found it odd to have a cold foie gras!
Main Course for me: Mirleton & Crab Gratin with Shrimp & Scallop, Cajun Hollandaise - I enjoyed this tremendously. I'm from Louisiana, and this was definitely the taste of home!
Main Course for husband: Braised Beef Shortrib with Creamed Leek Mashed Potatoes - he was disappointed in this selection. It was incredibly underseasoned, and he kept wishing that they had a salt shaker on the table to jazz this up a bit!
Dessert Course for me: Warm Peach Bread Pudding, Toasted Nuts, with Caramel Cream Cheese Ice Cream - this was quite good, warm and soft and fruity. Yum...
Dessert Course for husband: Tropical Tapestry of Mango Pineapple Salsa with Coconut Macaroon, Vanilla Ice Cream - again, my husband was a bit disappointed with his selection. He found it to be lacking in flavor, though he did really enjoy the macaroon.
Cheese Course - This was our biggest disappointment of the night; every cheese was something that we could have found at the Publix deli. Provolone? Please.
Wine Pairings -These were FANTASTIC! They were all wines with which we were unfamiliar, so we really enjoyed the opportunity to try something new.
Overall, we enjoyed this dinner very much, though there were definitely dishes that could have been tweaked. We will return, partly for the food, and partly because we loved the personal attention that the two owners gave to every single guest.
