Review: BBQ - Daisy Mae's, Mamma Duke's and Biscuit - in one day !

I was sitting in my office in Brooklyn and had an amazing urge to continue my search for decent BBQ in NYC. After the last experience at Philly's Smokehouse in LIC, I am beginning to realize (as all of you) good BBQ will remain elusive in NYC. I thought maybe BK had a chance.....anyway I saw on NY City Search that Biscuits on Flatbush Ave near Grand Army Plaza served BBQ...hopped the #2 train for a quick lunch.....interesting though I got off at Bergen Street...there was Mamma Duke's (supposedly owned by the mother of the notorious Mr. Puffy aka P-Diddy who will be running the city). Anyway I passed and proceeded to Biscuits. IT WAS THE WORST FOOD I had in a while. I ordered the half rack of ribs with mac and cheese and slaw. The ribs were so fatty with little to no sauce on them and extremely overcooked. Thank god they were not burned like Philly's ribs. The mac and cheese was soooo 'Krafty"....no hint of real cheese, and lastly...the slaw was beige. I dumped the whole meal and existed however when I exited, I noticed how the proudly displayed their "City Search Approved" definitely a badge of dis-honor !

I walked back to the train ...and said let me try Mama Dukes .....their Mac and Cheese was the bomb !....two different types of cheeses and the rotissere chicken was seasoned well and crispy !...had to try the sweet potato pie.....would make my mom proud...definitely another visit is warranted.

Anyway Daiy Mae's......mediocre and too pricey for their offering..had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw...delicious but $8.00???....I can get a better one for less in Brooklyn and I will ....my partner had the Memphis Dry Rub ribs....they were fab too......and the baked beans were a meal in itself....disappointing was the corn bread and the sweet potatoes.....We were told that they almost ran out of them....we should have been so lucky!........

The search continues............
