Review of 18th st Lounge & Dukem

Followed the various posters recomendations last night. Thank you so much!

Its snowing..I left 70 degree sunny weather in S. Cal!

Anyway, I found 18th st Lounge to be OK. Didnt care for all the antiques and didnt feel that the lounge was upscale or trendy enough to warrant the prices. Bartender didnt know how to make a "Washington Apple" which is not an uncommon drink and gave us his version instead of asking me what it is. They took care of it though and brought the right drink. The people were not very dressed up in general there. This place PALES in comparision to lounges in Cal or Vegas. Thats ok, but what I don't like is when they promote (and act) like something they are not.

Dukem on the other hand was such a good recomendation. Never had Ethiopian food and it was so incredibly tasty so much food that there was no way to finish it.
They had Regae music playing on the big screen and the band was going to come on later. The decor and service were OK at best, but like I said, this is typical of Ethnic restaurants that have good food. I wanted to thank everyone for sending me here. Now I want to find Ethoipian restaurants in Orange County, CA!

We were going to hit more clubs and lounges, but were simply too full after Dukem. Will let you know my other adventures as I go through my DC adventure.
